After achieving everything in the year of 2012, the Miami Heat star is uncertain regarding participation in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
LeBron James has achieved everything in the year 2012 and his season could not have gone any better as he capped it off by winning an Olympic gold against Spain.
On August 12th, LeBron along with team USA defeated Spain in a repeat from the Final in Beijing, and won their second consecutive Olympic Gold. This coming after a successful campaign with the Miami Heat to get his first
ever NBA Championship, make is safe to say that James is experiencing a high time in his illustrious career.
However after winning the second gold medal for his country in 8 years, James is not sure about his Olympic future.
"It’s been a great run honestly. I don’t know if I’m going to be part of the 2016 team." – James
The reasons behind the statement are not clear as LeBron at the moment is at the top of his career. He won his first ever NBA Championship – something he had yearned for his entire career and to top it off by winning a gold medal
for the country is an achievement of the highest order.
LeBron will become the second member of this Redeem team following in the footsteps of Kobe Bryant who will not be participating in the Brazil games because of his age. However age is not a problem for James as he would only be
31 years old by the time the 2016 Rio de Janeiro comes around.
He may have inclinations toward giving the young group of Americans to take on the Olympic glory and given the talent they have, the Americans are more than capable of achieving much success. But the real reasons behind making
such a statement will remain uncertain until further contemplation for LeBron himself.
However, one thing is for sure that this will stir up a frenzy of comments from people who have wanted him to fail ever since his move to Miami. James has been constantly silencing his critics but a fair share of biasness is bound
to come his way until he make a firm decision regarding his Olympic future.
