LeBron James on verge of becoming youngest player to score 2,000 points for 7 seasons in a row
26-year old, LeBron James, is just two points away from the height of his career when he becomes the youngest player to score 2,000 points in seven back-to-back seasons.
The All-Star is most likely going to set this record on Wednesday night, as his team Miami Heat host Milwaukee Bucks.
By doing so, James will be one of the seven players, who set this record in the history of the National Basketball Association.
It will be a great achievement for the phenomenal player to etch his name among some of the most remarkable players of all times. He will be the eighth player to join the club and also the youngest of all those who made it their before him.
Alex English, Dominique Wilkins, Karl Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlain were the legends, who set this record before him.
James will have a two-year advantage over Robertson, who was 28-years old, when he reached this point in his career. All seven of the above mentioned players are a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
When asked about how he feels about joining the elite club, the two-time MVP stated, "It means a lot. It means I've stayed healthy over the years. It also means the teammates and coaching staffs that I've had have given me the leeway to go out there and
score”.
He added, "I've just tried to take full advantage of it. There's a lot of hard work that goes into it and I just try to go out on the court and be the best player I can every night".
When asked about how he has coped with his health and made it to this statistical point for the seventh successive season, the player credited his health, saying that he is grateful for having avoided injuries in his tenure.
The player said that he takes pride in himself for not waiting till the season starts to get himself in form and is ready to play before the season starts. He also added that he works hard to keep himself above the curve.
James also mentioned that he tries not to be reactive but proactive and that has helped him a lot. He revealed his secret when he said that he tries to get things done before he gets hurt. This is evident as the player is seen icing his knees every workout.
The efficient player has definitely worked hard to make it to this point. The seven times NBA All-Star is concerned about his health too, as he knows that good health is a major factor in a player’s performance.
He is well aware of the issues that may become a hurdle, but he does not let them take a toll on him. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches and carrying a weight of 113 kg, King James thinks that his knees may be something to be worried about.
Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant is also just 85 points behind to make it to the 2,000 mark for the seventh consecutive time.
