LeBron James or Derrick Rose – Who deserves MVP the most? NBA Special Report (Part-2)
But, yes the hoopla of single handily carrying the team to success always jumps in when it comes to MVP. Ask James, he knows it firsthand – seven long year of service in Cleveland.
While Rose has been pivotal in orchestrating the Bulls’ rise this season, James has been receiving help from Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
But, the thing is that even in the company of Wade and Bosh; James has managed to create a niche for himself. Imagine putting Rose in the cluster of superstars that James is presently in, and he might not even score half of what
he is doing now. In fact, in one-on-one comparison, James is already beating Rose in points scored, rebounds grabbed, steals made, three points shooting and the field goal percentage.
There are many stalwarts in the league who perform at a level even better if not the same than that of Rose, everyday of the week. Take the example of James team-mate Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and the
list just goes on.
The same cannot be said about James though – he is a class apart.
To look at the situation from another angle ask yourself; who would you rather prefer in your team LeBron James or Derrick Rose?
Ask this question a thousand times from thousand people and you will have the same answer time and time again. It will be LeBron James – period.
One other thing that might hurt LeBron’s hunt for the MVP troika is that the fans want a change. They wanted a change when Michael Jordan was playing; he only won the award five times in 14 years despite being the best player of
that era. And they want a change now. LeBron reputation after the Cleveland departure fiasco hasn’t helped either.
For all the ball-game lovers who think that what James did in July was wrong – wake up. James was never a killjoy. All he wanted to do was to earn a Championship ring, a feat he truly deserves and one he would have never gotten
in Cleveland.
James is still the same player, who used to rule our minds and heart. The one who stills brings it on, day in and day out. Look at what happened to the Cavaliers, nearly five months after he left them. They don’t seem to snatch
even a single win, have endured a losing streak of historic proportions and are now a certainty to finish last in the league.
In a nutshell, if James does not get voted as an MVP, it will be a classic case of an electorate allowing his feeling to overpower reason. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time nor the last, but that does not make the injustice
any less objectionable.
Not picking him for MVP may blotch the very game down the tunnel.
