LeBron James or Kobe Bryant?

Question

Hypothetically - if you had to restart a franchise up, would you choose LeBron James or Kobe Bryant to lead it? Don't factor in age or previous championships, finals appearances, etc. Go by skill and character. On a team of role players, would you choose LeBron or Kobe as your franchise player?

Lebron James no doubt about it!! He is amazing and so young. His stats are over the top and are stats people usually get in their primes or when they are older like 26,27,28. He is the KING

there is no question about Lebron James--why? Bc cause Lebron can do it all he can score when he needs and make plays when he can't do anything, He's a scorer and a play maker. Lebron can shoot 3s at the buzzer average around 30 pts a game. Kobe is afraid to shoot a 3 and he's just learning to be a team player. Lebron can lead his team single handedly to the finals everyone knows if you saw what happened in the 06-07 season but can Kobe? On a team of role players Lebron can take them to where ever he wants but Kobe needs someone to back him up. SO LEBRON JAMES NO DOUBT

Ok, for people who said Lebron, because he's younger...I'm pretty sure the question said "do not factor in age"...I'd take Kobe over Lebron any day...Last time I checked Kobe is the only person on LA's team, he also isnt injury prone as Lebron is...Kobe doesnt have bad games, he just has good or excellent games. As of now, Kobe and Lebron are on the Olympics team, and Lebron is..yes..injured...So, Kobe hands down.

LeBron.  I don't think Kobe can win as a #1 guy.  Robin(Kobe) need Batman in order to win.

LeBron will be willing to play with anyone on his side.  Kobe on the other hand will not be willing to play with anyone else who is going to be #1 guy on the team.  Remember he drove Shaq away because of it.

Kobe Bryant. Has a better jumpshot and can spread out teams more. LeBron is better at driving the ball, but Kobe is very good at it. Defensively is where they are separted. Bryant is way better than James.  Bryant has made first team all NBA defense when James hasn't never made all NBA defense.

If you don't factor in age, then the decision is very easy!

By the time LeBron leaves his prime, he won't have the speed and athleticism to blow past people, and he can't shoot or post, so he is pretty much done by 32.

Kobe is our generations Jordan, ultimately the best ever.  So I go Kobe.  Kobe's a better long range and free throw shooter, he also creates space better with his speed threat.  His fade away jumper is unstoppable.  Lebron is stronger down low and is a better passer.  When you talk D, Kobe is the better defender.  He also has that something special that you can't put a number on.  He's clutch, game on the line he wants the ball and has hit the game winning or tying shot more often than not. If I only have role players I have to have Kobe, he will run around and create more than LeBron if the other options are role players.

Kobe is the best player in the league, but if you are gonna build a franchise around one player that will need to carry the team, LeBron is a much better option because of how he can make all his teammates better.
