LeBron James scorches the Atlanta Hawks with a 43-point blitz as Miami Heat win 106-85
With 10:17 left in the third quarter and the Miami Heat leading by 51-39, LeBron James flew down the lane, clutched suddenly, then received a dime from the Dwayne Wade and finally canned in a jumper, sparking the Heat to a 14 point
lead. By the time he finished the quarter with another jumper, Miami were already thinking about their next encounter with the Denver Nuggets.
The two times reigning MVP simply went berserk in the third quarter of play to pound 23 points as the Miami Heat romped to a 106-85 win over the Atlanta Hawks. It’s very rare for a team to gain any sort of momentum once King James
decides to turn on the Heat. Friday was one of those nights in which he clinched a blistering game-high 43 points to absolutely overshadow the opposition.
"My jump shot felt great. When my jump shot is on, there's really nothing you can do about it defensively." James said after the game.
The Hawks starters failed to create any sort of an impression on the night. Marvin Williams, Damien Wilkins and Jeff Teague exploded off the bench and clutched double-double apiece. The three leading scorers for Atlanta combined
for 42 points.
Chris Bosh joined the action with James with his 17 points and 10 rebounds while Dwayne Wade also managed to land 14 points.
The Hawks soared off to a 15-10 run in the preliminary moments of the game to secure an early advantage; however, they were crushed by the Heat afterwards. James took the possession of the ball aggressively as Hawks could only
watch him blowing to the rim extensively. He made all of his six shots in the first quarter including shot from downtown to spearhead his team for 25-21 advantage.
Atlanta’s defense was totally fluffed up by the superstar trio in the second quarter. James sustained his flawless shooting through the frame as well as Miami amplified the lead 50-37 progressing into the halftime.
The advent of the third quarter unleashed one of the most ferocious assaults the Hawks have absorbed in a single period this season as James decided to turn it on. Dwyane set the tone early by banging in two missiles from downtown.
It was all James show, the rest of the way as the Heat took an insurmountable 29 points lead into the final quarter.
The final quarter of the play was a sheer formality. Although the Hawks pinned few buckets in the garbage time but it only helped in providing the score some respectability. Miami were never seriously threatened as they romped
to a 106-85 victory at the buzzer.
