LeBron James stars as Miami Heat knock down the Chicago Bulls 101-93 in overtime
LeBron James erupted with a game-high 35 points as the Miami Heat rolled to a 101-93 overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena. With this victory, Miami leads the Eastern Conference
Finals series, 3-1.
The 26-year-old Heat forward also added six assists, six rebounds, two steals, and three blocks scored, scoring 13-of-13 free throws. The Heat kept playing with the focus and intensity they played with this series and walked away
with a hard-fought victory.
Chris Bosh continued his strong play and added 22 points and six rebounds in the victory, shooting 6-for-12 from the field. Guard Dwyane Wade chipped in with 14 points and five rebounds while Mike Miller came off the bench with
12 points and nine rebounds for Miami.
The Bulls were once again led by the league MVP. Rose scored 23 points on the night, however, the Heat slowed him to a 8-for-27 shooting from the field. In addition to that, the 22-year-old missed a jump shot with just one second
to go in the fourth quarter that could have won the game for the Bulls.
Forward Carlos Boozer with 20 points and 11 rebounds; Luol Deng added 20 points while centre Joakim Noah grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds for Chicago.
Miami opened the first quarter with a 4-0 run to take the initial lead. The Bulls responded with a 19-4 run to take a 19-8 lead with 04:22 to go in the quarter. The Heat however scored eight unanswered points in the last three
minutes of the opening quarter, to show only three down after 12 minutes. The game remained close for most of the second quarter but Chicago held on to a 46-44 advantage at halftime.
The Bulls were the better side in the third and they sprinted to 65-57 lead deep in the third. With nearly 1:45 left though, the Heat went on a 6-3 run to cut the deficit to five, 68-63.
After struggling mightily on the offensive for the first three quarters, Miami finally got their shooting touch back in the fourth quarter. The Heat reeled off a 9-1 run early to first take the lead and then kept on dominating.
The Bulls however managed to tackle the Heat and took the game to overtime at 85-85. Heat outscored the Bulls 22-17 in the fourth.
Miami continued their hot shooting in overtime and raced to an 89-85 edge early. Miami however never gave the Bulls any chance after that and went on a 6-2 run in the closing seconds to walk away with their third straight victory
in the series.
