LeBron James still sees a lot of room for improvement in his game – NBA Update
LeBron James has started the season with 13 consecutive 20-point games and has been the main reason behind a 10-3 Miami Heat record, putting his team at the top of the Eastern Conference.
James has been a class apart so far. He is consistently shooting three’s, making long and mid range jumpers at a canter, and has been his usual destructive self while penetrating the lanes. The defence has also been up there, and
considering that this is just the start of the season, the best is definitely yet to come. However LeBron still sees a lot of room for improvement in his game.
"I've still got room for improvement, honestly," said James, who has now mustered 20 points or more in 18 consecutive regular season games. "I'm not shooting the ball from the free-throw line like I want to. So I'm still getting
better with that. I'll continue to get better with my game.”
Getting to the free throw line is one of LeBron’s strong points, but his conversion rate has been an issue off late. Last season, James managed to shoot 77.1 percent from the charity stripe, but so far in the thirteen games this
season, he has just converted 67.1 percent – missing 25 of the 76 opportunities he got from the foul line.
He has however covered up for that by filling the other stats in the box score. At 8.8, he is one of the top rebounding small forwards in the league and has also reduced his turnovers average. Add to that, the fact that he has
scored in double figures for 432 consecutive games and you can pretty much define the word consistency;
"I think I've done a pretty good job of sustaining my game throughout the year. It was a long year for me last year, and this summer, and I just try to sustain that this year, as well."
For James though, every game is different and he want to give his best each time;
"I feel like when I go out there, if it's someone's first game to ever see me play," he said, "I want them to remember me."
