LeBron James versus the Oklahoma City Thunder in NBA Finals - Part 2
29 points and 14 rebounds – Game 3
In the first NBA Finals game at Miami, LeBron James continued his strong run towards a first NBA Championship, finishing the night with 29 points on an 11 of 23 shooting and 14 rebounds with 5 of them coming on the offensive glass.
Not only that, but LeBron also ensured that Kevin Durant remained quite in the fourth quarter as Heat overcame a 10 point hole in the third quarter to grind out a 91-85 win and take a 2-1 lead in the series.
26 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds and 2 steals – Game 4
Down 2-1in the series, the Oklahoma City Thunder were desperate to tie the series at 2 apiece in Game 4, but the problem for them was that LeBron James was getting hotter with each game and in the Game 4, he produced perhaps his
best performance of the finals.
The Miami heat star erupted with 26 points, handed out 12 assists, and hauled down one rebound shy of a triple double as the home team continued their streak with a 104-98 win.
James suffered from cramps late in the fourth quarter, but after few minutes on the sidelines, he returned to deliver the killer blow. With 2:51 remaining on the clock and the scores tied at 94, James knocked down a three pointer
to give Miami the lead, one which they never relinquished.
26 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal – Game 5
In potentially the most significant game in his career, LeBron James brought out his best.
The King finally claimed his throne with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds triple double as Miami Heat routed the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 to close the series at 4-1 and win the NBA Championship for the first time in the
big three era.
James was nominated as the Finals MVP and became the first man since Tim Duncan in 2003 to record a triple double in a Finals game.
The player was overwhelmed after his lifelong dream had come true;
"You know, my dream has become a reality now, and it's the best feeling I ever had," James said.
