LeBron James will add to his game in summer, Dwyane Wade set to work on shooting – NBA Update
Miami Heat super stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James just led their team to a NBA World Championship triumph but that doesn’t mean the stars are in for an easy summer. These are two of the most driven players in the NBA and are already looking forward to
use the summer break in order to improve themselves further.
For Dwyane Wade the potential area of improvement is clear; his shooting. The livewire guard is almost always too hot to handle but he was clearly not hitting the target with much precision during the playoffs. Wade continued to make the acrobatic shots
he has become famous for, but he also had glaring misses and shots rimming out.
Therefore the former NBA Finals MVP has decided to hire a shooting coach in the offseason and get to work on that aspect of his game.
The Miami guard told the Herald Tribune that he wanted to “Try to do more in the sense of my three-point game and midrange game, getting that back. My mechanics aren’t that bad. I don’t have an ugly shot, not one of those Shawn Marion shots. There are certain
things in my shot I can change.”
Wade knows that with his advancing years his mobility and explosiveness are bound to take a back seat and he will have to rely more on his shooting to put points on the board.
Therefore, he wants the coach to “give me a different look and [suggest] where I can get better.”
LeBron James though is a different proposition. The former Cleveland Cavaliers forward is at the peak of his powers, destroying all in his path during the 2011-2012 NBA season. James took home both the league MVP award as well as the Finals MVP trophy, so
it’s hard to see how he can improve on that.
LeBron though does have something in mind and he promised to work on it in the summer.
“Thought about what I’m going to do personally to improve my game. I always love the offseason. I’ll have an opportunity to come back with something new. There is more to add. Not telling you guys what yet.” James said.
If the MVP is going to add yet another weapon to his more than formidable arsenal, the rest of the NBA better watch out.
