Lea Giraudon claims Women’s 200m butterfly gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Lea Giraudon of CN 95 Ezanville claimed gold medal of the Women’s 200m butterfly on day one of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Thursday, November 15.
Giraudon showed no mercy to her opponents in the distant butterfly discipline and managed to edge out her toughest contender over the finishing end for the crown.
With her notable pace, she enjoyed a benefit of barely one arm-stroke over her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 11.20 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Elodie Delamare of Lille Metropole Natation, who was 0.23 seconds behind and finished her race in third place by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 11.43 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Magali Rousseau of Montauban Natation, who stayed two body lengths behind and seized third position of the event by producing a time of 2 minutes and 13.28 seconds.
Fourth spot of the race was obtained by Marie Wattel of Olympic Nice Natation, who was 1.61 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 14.89 seconds.
Subsequently, Wattel was followed by Clotilde Dequaire of Stade Clermont Natation, who was more than a body length slower from her preceding swimmer and finished her race in fifth best place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 16.12 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Justine Bruno of Beauvaisis Aquatic Club, who stayed 0.68 seconds slower and tapped the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 16.80 seconds.
Bruno was traced by Camille Wishaupt of Mulhouse On, who was just 0.04 seconds behind and posted a time of 2 minutes and 16.84 seconds for seventh place.
Wishaupt was chased by Maeva Couade-Courtois of CN Antibes, who was one and a half body length apart and ended her race in a time of 2 minutes and 18.29 seconds.
In addition, Giraudon was overjoyed with her title claiming effort and said that she would continue her hard work to attain the same in forthcoming competitions.
