Lead levels in men?

my husbands work has been found to have a 10% level of lead after some were feeling ill.. my husbands tests came back he has a lead reading of 10 micrograms per decilitre is this bad news if you know about this can you give us a clue as to what this means as he has the highest reading from the rest of the crew..he works at a construction site /boilermaker welder..

  1. Apparently, levels above 10 microgram per decilitre is cause for concern. He should be careful, but I don't think it is very serious.

    The best treatment is lower lead exposure at work, but chelation therapy (taking chemicals which complex the lead and allow it to be excreted) are available and seem to work.

    As long as this level does not rise, and your husband is not exposed to high levels, he should be fine. But do raise the issue at his job, it is a health and safety issue.
