Leaf blower won't start- Wrong mix of oil. HELP!?

I have a Poulan leaf blower. I screwed up and used the wrong mix of oil in it. When I was using it, it came to a grinding halt and now I cannot pull the cord. As far as I can tell, I need to clean or rebuild the carb. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  1. If it froze up while you were using it the cylinder is froze. The only thing that I have ever done that helped  was to pull the spark plug and see if you can tap the cylinder loose. If not the blower is toast.

  2. You should be using 2 cycle mix of either 40 or 50 to 1. If it was too lean, could have overheated and melted the flywheel pulley.

In that case, order a new one with pull cord. easy to replace. Also, completely drain and dry out the fuel tank, replace the filter (inside tank) and clean out the carb. If it came to a "grinding halt" maybe you just got a stick or something stuck in the cooling fan blades. But still, clean it out.

  3. If you can't pull the cord it is froze up and is a waste of time trying to rebuile
