Me and my friend were discussing this and I think if you took a piece of wood (a skimboard), and put wheels on it, and put a pole with a sail (bedsheet or something) on it, and then you sat on it and held a leafblower up to the sail could it possibly move the device that was just created. Even if the sail wasn't built right or we were to heavy. We basically just want to know if the leaf blower is somehow on or attactched to the device could it still move you because he thinks I'm wrong. but i can dream can't i.

  1. the force needed to create the wind would off set the wind in the sail.  you would be better off using the leaf blower as a pusher by pointing it back.  try making a hoovercraft instead. more fun with a leaf blower.  take a plywood board and cut a hole the size of the output on the blower in the center, insert the blower and staple a skirt around the base...any fabric will do.  have fun.

  2. It won't work, but even if it did, how would you stop it?

  3. It would be inefficient, but could work.  You basically have to get the leaf blower air to mostly go the opposite way that you want the vehicle to go.

This isn't hard to test.  Get a kid's wagon, a sheet, and a leaf blower.
