League Leaders Vancouver Canucks host the Montreal Canadiens at the Rogers Arena
The final game of Tuesday will be hosted by the league and Western Conference leading Vancouver Canucks at the Rogers Arena. This will be the second and final meeting between the two sides. The last time these two met was on the 9th of November
2010 which saw the Montreal Canadiens winning the game 2-0 in the end.
The Canucks have seen a drop in the recent performances which have seen them come up with wins and losses alternately. This is resulted in them dropping chunks of points allowing the Detroit Red Wings to close down the gap on the Canucks in the Western Conference.
The Canucks in the most recent game against the Dallas Stars came up with a dominating performance that saw them winning the game 5-2 this past Saturday. On the other hand, the Canadiens have their last two games and win here would help them a great deal.
The Canadiens haven’t managed to come up their best as they have won just one out of their last seven games. Resultantly, they have fallen behind the Boston Bruins by four points in the Northeast Division.
The Canadiens had come up with some decent results and had lost only one game before their game against the Calgary Flames this past Sunday. They were very tight and played good ice hockey and trailed by single goal at the end of the first period.
However, the Flames offence was too strong for the Canadiens as they managed to come up with some strong plays and won scored thrice in the remaining part of the game to win 4-0 in the end. The Canadiens have won just one game in regulation, scored a point
in four points and lost two games out of their last seven games.
"We played really well that first half of that second period," said Price. "When they got that shorthanded goal, that was tough to swallow and they just kept going after that."
The Canadiens have played 60 games in the season so far out of which they have won 31 games in regulation time, seven games in overtime and scored a total of 69 points. On the other hand, the Canucks have played 60 games too and won 38 games in regulation
time, nine games in overtime scoring 85 points.
Daniel Sedin has been in top form once again during the course of the season scoring goals and creating chances for his teammates regularly. Daniel Sedin, leads the list of player points with 77 points. Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning is next in
the list with 75 points.
"Right now, it doesn't mean much," Sedin said. "We'll keep playing and see what happens, but it's nothing I skate around thinking about too much."
The Canucks have exceeded expectations this season as they are leading the Western Conference and the league and are in good position to win the Stanley Cup this time out.
