Leah Gingrich and Paige Miller pocket Women’s events: Day Three – 2011 Texas Senior Circuit
Leah Gingrich and Paige Miller pocketed the gold medal of the Women’s events on day three of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit. Gingrich earned the title of the Women’s 400m Individual Medley, while Miller achieved the gold medal of the 50m back-stroke.
UN-ST’s Gingrich won the title of the distant medley event with a superb timing of 4 minutes and 53.53 seconds. Her time was slightly ahead of Sarah Peterson of SCAT-GU, who remained 0.28 seconds away and occupied the silver medal on the podium with a timing
of 4 minutes and 53.81 seconds. Chelsie Miller of CFSC-GU was almost two seconds behind them and reached the podium for the bronze medal, by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 55.80 seconds.
Meredit Oliver of MTRO-NT was the fourth fastest swimmer of the race, as she touched the wall in a time of 4 minutes and 56.41 seconds. She was followed by her team-member, Whitney Allen, who appeared on the finishing wall as the fifth best swimmer by producing
a time of 4 minutes and 57.29 seconds. Sally E Wood of UN-LA and Melanie Dodds of AGS-GU finished their swims in the sixth and seventh fastest places, by touching the wall in 5:00.85 and 5:02.39 minutes, respectively. Dodds team-mate, Alyssa Conner was the
eight fastest swimmer of the race, as she touched the wall in 5 minutes and 04.07 seconds.
In the 50m back-stroke, Miller of AGS-GU was the fastest swimmer of the race, as she seized the gold medal of the one-lap swim in a time of 30.08 seconds. Her title winning effort was 0.28 seconds faster than her following swimmer and team-member, Tess A
Simpson, who reached the podium for the silver medal by finishing her race in a time of 30.34 seconds. Simone Manuel of FSCT-GU clinched the bronze medal of the 50m event in noteworthy time of 30.68 seconds.
Danielle Yoon of DADS-GU secured the fourth fastest spot of the race by completing her swim in 31.02 seconds. They were followed by Lauren Fuerst of Mustangs-NT, who occupied fifth position of the event in 31.59 seconds. Michelle Gean and Kathryn Eckhart
followed Fuerst on the finishing wall as the sixth and seventh finishers, after they posted a time of 31.61 and 31.62 seconds, respectively. Skylar S Smith of FCST-GU was the final swimmer to complete her race, as she clocked a time of 31.78 seconds for the
eighth position.
The session concluded after the final scheduled event, while the winners of these meets were awarded with medals for their remarkable swims.
