Leah Neale clinches 400m freestyle crown: Day one - Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day one of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships saw an intriguing and versatile swim in Canberra, Australia, on Saturday, September 17. The session of the meet conducted the Girls 15-16 years old 400m freestyle final heat,
where Leah Neale of Queensland hit the wall in 4 minutes and 10.72 seconds to win the golden crown of the podium.
After winning the gold medal, Neale pleased due to her impressive swim in the respective meet.
In the corresponding race, Laura Crockart of New South Wales took home the silver medal on the podium by submitting a striking time of 4 minutes and 11.28 seconds. Alici Caldwell of New South Wales snared the bronze medal of the platform by posting a winning
time of 4 minutes and 14.33 seconds.
In addition, Emily Kayser of Western Australia was placed fourth in a time of 4 minutes and 19.14 seconds. Racha Mihatsch of Victoria earned fifth place honours with a matchless mark of 4 minutes and 19.21 seconds, while Carla Buchanan of Queensland settled
in sixth in a time of 4 minutes and 20.41 seconds. Eliza Ham of Victoria was placed seventh with a mark of 4 minutes and 21.68 seconds, while Rebecca Turnell of Western Australia wound up eighth in a time of 4 minutes and 24.01 seconds.
Kate Hofmeyer of South Australia earned ninth place honours with a mark of 4 minutes and 26.24 seconds. Moreover, Kaelyn Hann of Queensland was placed tenth with a mark of 4 minutes and 26.66 seconds. Hannah Mawby of South Australia settled eleventh in a
time of 4 minutes and 28.69 seconds. Last, but not the least, Kate Edwards of South Australia earned twelfth spot in a time of 4 minutes and 52.79 seconds.
Furthermore, Chelse Gillett of Queensland snared the Girls 13-14 years old 400m freestyle crown on the podium by submitting a matchless time of 4 minutes and 15.24 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Chelse Gubecka of Queensland was placed second in a
time of 4 minutes and 15.67 seconds. On the other hand, Meg Bailey of New South Wales settled third in a time of 4 minutes and 18.48 seconds.
All the contestants of the meet took a huge round of applause from the judges because of their matchless swims, while the winners were awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
