Leah Neale occupies Girls 200m freestyle gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Leah Neale of Cent Brisbane occupied gold medal of the Girls 200m freestyle in 17 to 18-year-olds category on day two of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Wednesday, April 10.
The 17-year-old Neale met expectations of her supporters in the four-lap discipline and cruised her way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With her notable pace, Neale enjoyed a prominent lead over her opponents and tapped the wall for first position.
Neale showed no mercy to her challengers in the 200m discipline as she transpired on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 58.97 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Amelia Gould of SOPAC, who stayed one and a half body length slower and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.12 seconds.
The second fastest finisher was chased by Carla Buchanan of Acacia, who stayed 1.27 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and emerged on the finishing wall for bronze medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 01.39 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Leanne Wright of Carlile, who stayed 0.32 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 01.71 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Alici Caldwell of Carlile, who was 2.02 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 02.73 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Laura Crockart of Ryde-Carlile, who remained only 0.04 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 03.77 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Emma Duncan of Marion, who was 1.20 seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.97 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Claudi Goswell of Willoughby, who was 0.53 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 05.50 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the event.
