I have a 7 yr old Craftsman Lawn Tractor

It has a one gallon fuel tank. i noticed that it was leaking fuel after i would fill it up and the next day, it would have lost half a tank..

There are 4 little cracks at each corner of the tank

  1. I wouldn't try to patch any cracks in a plastic gas tank.  Get the model number, call Sears repair.  They can ship it directly to your house.  A leaking gas tank is not something to mess with.  The plastic has turned hard and brittle with age.  Anything you put on it will not stop the cracks from growing.

  2. Both Tennessee and Olger H are right.

Try JB Weld for a temporary patch. Contact Sears for a new tank. Craftsman should have a replacement tank.

If you can't locate a direct replacement, check with a dealer of different brands. There are only about 3 actual manufacturers of riding lawn mowers and a lot of brand name parts are interchangeable.

  3. try jb weld

  4. I have yet to find an epoxy, including JB Weld,  that will stick very long to the plastic those tanks are made of.  You should buy a new one for your own safety and peace of mind.
