Question:

Leaking amniotic fluid? (tmi)?

So last night I slept naked with a pillow in between my legs for a little extra support. But when I sleep naked, I try to keep the pillow at least a few inches from "down there" for hygienic reasons. Well I woke up last night because the pillow had made it's way further up, so when I grabbed it to move it, the exact spot I touched was wet, almost like someone had spilled a little water on it. (tmi..) I then touched myself and sure enough down there was wet too. Not like the thick feeling of discharge, but literally just wet like water. There was no smell to it, and it wasn't a lot. So I guess my question is, if it was amniotic fluid, would some sort of pain follow it? Like an increase in back pain, or maybe a few more Braxton Hicks?

I have a doctors appointment in a couple days, would it be ok to wait until then to bring it up, or should I call my doctor?

Thank you!

  1. call and check..better safe then sorry...

  2. CAll your doctor. If it is amniotic fluid, they will want the baby born ASAP so it doesn't get infected.

  3. Just a little like that probably wasn't your water leaking, unless it continues throughout the day. If you are near full-term, I would say wait it out and see what happens. If it continues, assume it is water leaking and get checked.

  4. I would call. If it was amniotic fluid they need to know and might want to check and make sure everyting is ok. Better safe than sorry.

  5. I can't say for sure if that is what it is. If u aren't leaking when u get up and move around or having pain, then I would say probably no. it's a big possibility ur bladder could have released a little on its own. I was 8 mos. pregnant when mines broke after having an ultrasound. U usually feel a light trickle of fluid then the more u move the more fluid that comes. It also might be pink tinged and it smells sweet. if u have any questions, u should contact ur doctor right away.
