Leaking basement repair.?

Question

Was wondering if anybody could give me a ballpark estimate on how much it would cost to have a professional repair my basement. Every time it rains, theres water on the floor, luckily its not finished. Its only a partial basement with a crawlspace, and the actual basement part is only about 12 by 12.

You can't begin to fix the problem till you know how it's getting onto the floor.....

Next time there's a hard rain, go down there and watch.

It usually comes through the wall, but it could get in through a low opening, or up through the slab...

All require different fixes......

You may also find that it depends on which way the wind is blowing the rain.

Water on the floor?  It's possible your sump pump is malfunctioning, in which case, the rainwater is actually seeping up through your concrete slab.

If this is the case, a new sump pump might be the solution.  Contact a few plumbers and shop around for estimates.  If it's just a replacement, I can't imagine the job costing any more than $75.

I also recommend a battery backup for your pump if power outages are prone to occur in your area during storms.
