Question:

Leaking faucet?

I just moved in to my new house and in one bathroom which has a double vanity both faucets leak. I notice that they leak mainly hot water. The previous owner just installed these really cheap faucets and I know he did it him self and he is not the most handy person. What should I be looking for? Any help is appreciated. There brand new faucets so he must have missed a step or something.

  1. more than likely it's just a bad seal on the valves.  Ace hardware, true value, or home depot will have the software for your faucets.  If you don't know specifically what type of faucets they are, it's a pretty safe bet to go-ahead and take your faucets apart, then go to the hardware store to get the repair kit.  the repair kits for faucets normally run 3-10$ and take about 15-20 min to install.  for diverter valves (single handle faucets), you can also replace the ball of the valve, but that's generally not needed unless the ball has become damaged, or has lots of hard water buildup.

  2. try tightening the faucets. check the o rings in there if that doesn't help
