  1. I was there in April. The tower is nothing but a tourist attraction. The inside is a circular stairwell with 2 levels (middle and top) that are used for taking a break (it's a lot of stairs) and taking pictures.


  2. It's just a tourist attraction, it's not used for anything else.

  4. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was built as a free-standing Campanile for the Cathedral, it is and always has been a bell-tower.
