The 16-year-old Wright showered her expertise in the four-lap swim, by submitting an age group record time of 1 minute and 59.50 seconds for the gold medal. With her scintillating effort, she easily overwhelmed the effort of former title holder of the 200m

The silver medal of the discipline was obtained by Leah Neale of Queensland, who remained 1.52 seconds behind the champion and appeared on the finishing wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 01.02 seconds. The third spot of the race was accomplished by Neale’s
team-member, Carla Buchanan, who remained only 0.06 seconds slower than her preceding swimmer and settled on the podium for bronze medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 01.08 seconds.
In the meantime, the arena witnessed a notable effort of Georgia Miller of New South Wales, who remained only 0.45 seconds slower than the bronze medallist and posted a time of 2 minutes and 01.53 seconds for fourth position. Miller managed a lead of 0.45
seconds over her subsequent competitor and team-member, Ami Matsuo, who touched the finishing wall in 2 minutes and 01.98 seconds for fifth place.
Moments later, Hayley Baker of Victoria emerged on the concluding wall for sixth position, as she completed her swim in a time of 2 minutes and 02.89 seconds. Baker was followed by Celeste Astorino of Victoria and Brianna Throssell of Western Australia,
who earned seventh and eighth positions with timings of 2:03.07 and 2:04.38 minutes, respectively.
Furthermore, the arena enjoyed the immaculate efforts of all podium finishers, while these frontrunners were called upon the victory stand for their invincible swims after the completion of the session.
