How do you improve them? I can do the splits, my left leg is easiest. I can't do box splits because I have weird hips.

  1. practice holding you leg up to the front and back to build muscle so that you have the muscles to get your legs up there!

good luck and hope this helps!!!

  2. i had that problem for the longest time. i could do the splits on the ground but never in a leap. and it looked really awkward. but one day i just went to do it and it was like perfect.  one day it will just click.  just keep practicing hard. make sure you plea [i have no idea how to spell that] a lot before you jump.

  3. well...i always stretch on the stairs at my dance school but that might'nt work for your hips either.

leaps themselves are a case of practise. i'm really not that great at them but i've been working at them againa and again and it does seem to be helping ;D

flexibility does make it easier too. sitting in the splits will help for a bit each day. also if you lean forward like a hamstring stretch while in the splits it helps.

or also try picking up your back foot while int he splits and touching your head with your toe.

    hope this helps!

  4. Practicing battements (kicks) will help you throw your leg in a leap. Make sure to brush the floor when doing the battement. Do them to the back too, because you want to get your back leg up in a leap. Also make sure to keep your back up straight.

Continue to stretch in your splits, as they are the flexibility in your leap.
