Leapster on the fritz?

We got our 5 yr old a Leapster last year. Its still under a year old, and having problems already.

First, it has problems recognizing the games. She has to constantly take them out, and put them back in, and sometimes she gets lucky. Even I tried it thinking she was putting them in crooked, but had the same problem.

2nd, it turns off after about 30 min of game play. Even with brand new batteries.

Has anyone had this problem? Know how to fix it? I don't have a receipt anymore, so I'm not sure if contacting leapster would even help.

Your best course of action would be to call Leap Frog. They will do some simple trouble shooting work with you over the phone and if that doesn't work they will instruct you on how to send it to them to be fix or replaced.

I haven't had that particular problem with any of our Leapsters but I have heard this what to do from others who have had those and other types of problems.
