Learn expected to dominate Michael Higgins & Co. Race
Learn is expected to be dominant in the Michael Higgins & Co. Race at Naas in Ireland on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. A victory will earn his owners, M. Tabor, D. Smith & Mrs John Magnier, a cash prize of €9,315 in the end.
The going will be yielding in the 1 mile event, which is scheduled to start at 19:55 GMT, and a total of six runners will be up against each other. They will definitely provide a lot of entertainment to the spectators.
On the other hand, the punters will also be looking forward to the race, as they will be eager to win some easy money over Learn, who is a terrific performer. He has been given excellent odds by the bookies and it will be difficult for others to stop him
from taking the top spot.
The three-year-old colt does not have an ideal strike rate, as he has won just once out of eight attempts. Moreover, he has secured the runner up spot on a couple of times whereas finished as third on the same number of times.
Galileo’s son made his debut in competitive racing in June 2011 and was pretty much impressive back then. He was given a general starting price of 11 to 2 by the bookies in his first ever outing and did a decent job overall, finishing third.
Looking at this impressive performance, the A. P. O'Brien’s trainee was rated as the favourite in his next race. He speed looked good, but he failed to cope up with the pressure in the end and had to settle for the second place.
However, Learn did not have to wait for long before bringing up his maiden win, as he was dominant in the third race of his career, winning it by five lengths. He followed that up with a couple of back-to-back fourth place finishes, ending the 2011 season
on a good note.
The young colt has participated in three events this year, but has failed to win any of them. He seems to be in good touch right now, as he finished as a runner up last time around under jockey, J. P. O'Brien, who will be partnering him today as well.
