okay, I know you have to have your permit for 6 months, but I was wondering if it just meant like if I got a permit on July 24th, I could get the license on January 24th or if it was some crazy technical thing like 186 days from that day [6x31]? I'm sure it's the first one, but just in case. Oh, and no, I don't have to schedule a behind the wheel test because I'm taking driver's ed.

  1. OK! My granddaughter just went thru this. You can get your permit within 6 months of your 16th birthday, but you have to be 16 to get your license. You don't have to have your permit for 6 months, you just can't get your license until 16; and have to be 15-1/2 to get permit.

PS: My brainfreezes are real. Slushies kill me!

  2. on january 24th you will have your permit for 6 months. then you have to wait untill your 16 to get your license! Since your doing the at home driving ed when you get your license you will have to take a test before you get it!
