Question:

Learner permit out of state?

I plan on getting my learner's permit in Maine, but I officially live in Florida. I was wondering if I could drive around in Florida with a Maine permit.

And I don't mean to sound rude, but please don't tell me to ask the DMV, I've been to the site and couldn't find anything.

  1. As long as permit holding age in Maine isn't lower than Florida's ( Fifteen ) than you are good. Although some states may have laws prohibiting out of state learners permits,  im pretty sure Florida isn't one of them.

  2. Some states allow the transfer of permit.  But you cannot drive with permits in any other state than the state issued.

The thinking is that the permit is for practice and learning, not for traveling long distance.

    Good Luck...
