Question:

Learning English: Could you help me to write a sentence?

Hi everybody, I'm studying English at home and today I have a problem. I'm trying to write a sentence but I think that it's very redundant and I'd like you to help me to shorten it.

My sentence is:

"I don't accord with you and I'll never accord with you"

I'd liketo shorten it and I wrote it this way:

"I don't and never will accord with you"

Is it correct?, I don't know if it makes sense. I'd like you to help me and propose me more ways to shorten it. If you see a terrible mistake be sure to tell me.

Greetings.

  1. You can say : "I don't agree with you and I never will be"

for me agree sounds better, it's just my personal choice!

  2. it makes perfect sense

  3. I will never get along with you and I don't now.

  4. Instead of don't, use do not.  Sounds better.  And I agree with the others about switching to agree.

I do not agree with you and never will.

    or

I do not and never will agree with you.

  5. accord = agree, I dunt agree wit chew and eye will neber agree wit chew.

  6. Yeah, that's perfectly fine in fact, it sounds better. Even though it looks like you're pretty good at English anyway. I would replace accord with agree, it's more of a common word. It's good to have a refind way of speaking, especially around more intelligent people. But not so much around less intellectual people.

It's best to say "I'll never agree with you"

Quick tip, don't use slang or 'text' language.

  7. "I don't agree with you and I never will.."

    ( lol killakat xD )

  8. I would say.... I don't and want accord with you

  9. I won't agree with you and I never will.

  10. first of all not many people in england say "i don't accord with you" so "i don't agree with you" would be best.

    you say:

"i don't and will never agree with you"

    or simply

"i will never agree with you"

or if you want to emphasise the point that u dnt agree your first sentence is best aka:

"i don't agree with you and i will NEVER agree with you"

  11. I don't agree with you and I never will.

  12. I won't accord with you, and I never will.

    Hope this helps

  13. For the most part the sentence is ok.  However, the word "accord" is rarely used and many people in America might not know what it means.  I am just guessing, do you mean "agree"?

Edit:  Don't use the words "wit chew" because it sounds like someone sneezing.

  14. I will never accord with you.

    Lose the "don't".

  15. do you mean aggree? because we don't use the word accord very much.

I don't agree with you, and I never will.

    Or

I don't accord with you, and I never will.

I don't know what you were aiming for.

  16. "Accord" is usually used as a noun, meaning an agreement, or as an adjective, in the phrase, "in accord", meaning agreeing with.

Don't use "accord" there.  Use "agree."  Someone suggested, "I don't agree with you, and I never will."  That's the best, most natural way to say it.

You could say, "I don't agree with you, and I never will agree with you," but you would only say that for extreme emphasis.  You might SHOUT it at someone in an argument: "I don't agree with you!  And I never WILL agree with you!"  But for normal use, the other way is better.
