  1. Aside from moving to France  ?? .... I plan on buying Rosetta Stone to learn French someday ... I am presently teaching my kids to speak Spanish ... but since I don't know French & that is my next choice I'll need some help .... there's a trial online at their website .. that shows how it works .. in a few minutes I knew a lil bit of Turkish !!! ... they do use a different method which mirrors the way we originally learn our first language ... visually .. it appears to work ...

    Nasa &  U.S. Gov't use it

Best of Luck my friend !!!

  2. you can study French by anyways . in the Internet , TV , newspaper, your friends , ........

But the best way which I think is yourself , you must practice every time and every where and try to think and try to express your idea , your opinion by French , not your mother tongue

  3. Take an online course. http://www.ed2go.com/ offers an online course on learning french. With online courses, you can learn from the comfort of your home.

  4. ... have a French mom and be born in Limoges...

    or Plan B:

language tapes (CD's by Rosetta Stone or Pimsleur's...) as well as free online courses so that you hear it right, later look for some native French person that you share mutual interest with (such as sports or cooking or songs...) and make call dates in French at least three times a week but not longer then 10 min to discuss specific matters in French. As the other will not be able to see you, you will not be able to rely on gestures and face expressions. Decide on the theme before each date by email and prepare a small amount of material (such as the ingredient list when it's about a recepe) or any maching vocabulary when it comes to that topic. Let's say  we want to talk about home improvement. Today it's about plumbing. I want to tell my new friend how to install a new toilet bowl. So I will need words such as flubber, valve, putty....and the verbs to describe what I do....It's a fun and very efficent way to get to speak a language well.
