Ive been trying to learn how to speak tagalog recently and find the words sort of easy to remember, but am having a hard time figuring out how to put it all into a sentence.

Spanish is backwards and so Is Japanese right? Tagalog is weird like everything is mixed up everywhere. How is someone suppose to form a complete sentence?

I asked this filipino girl once how do you say "Hey you, let's go shopping." She responded but I dont remember the exact tagalog words she used except when I translated it to english it came out like this: "Go we to mall."

I watched the movie "My Big Love."

There is a lot of english dialouge but not alone. Its mixed in with the tagalog, and am wondering why? Why do they mix filipino language with english?

  1. The reaon why we learn the english language is so that we can communicate with other people from English-speaking countries. If we are not going to imitate the way they speak, we will sound a little bit weird to them. Remember how annoying those americans who speak Filipino with their american accent? It's like, "Kamusteh neh keyow...?"

People who learn other foreign languages know very well that it is a requirement, if you are serious about learning a language, that you acquire a native accent. Imagine a person speaking French with a Filipino accent. Do you think the french will be happy to talk to someone like that?XD

  2. because, english is like a second language in the philippines. there are many filipinos who know how to speak in english. filipinos who used mix tagalog-english sentences usually came from higher class, or rich people. one thing is you sound sosyal (dnt know english word) to other. There are also filipinos who are in normal social standing that still uses the mix. because it is easier. sometimes, pinoys just remember to use the english term because the tagalog term is either too long or too deep, that the word just slowly vanished in the vocabulary and replaced by its english counterpart.

  3. ang pangit mo

  4. cos filipinos always prefer the fast way to say a sentence, full tagalog sentences are long.
