I am taking on a new job where I am going to be doing a lot of work in India. What can I do to learn more about the country generally, and in particular the business and legal regime?

  1. India is no different then any free country.

As far as laws go your company should have a lawyer to guide you, if you are involved in commerce (import export then you need to request custom office input at both end and you may need a import export lawyer in India to clear certain items or products).

In most big cities you will find enough people who can carry on reasonable correspondence with you in English. If you visit the place then you can request a English speaking guide from the tourist office. This is not necessary but may be worth it.

  2. u r welcome to india, unlike western countries the law r not so stringent in many areas like trafic, public cleanliness etc.,

rest of the offences are similar as in any other country.., u need to spend lot of time and u will learn soon.

  3. It depends where are you going in India. India is a beatiful and cultural country. If you are going in any metropolotan city, you will not feel too much difference as they are developing very fast and everything is available there. But as India is a highly populated country, you may not find the same natural beauty and cleanliness like U.K.

Use internet to search for the city and when you will be there, the place itself is the best teacher, and you gather positive or negative opinions as per your own experiences.

    good luck!!!!
