  1. disagree and future isnt here yet..

  2. Who's living in the future?  I'm living in the present.

Disagree.  Our weak concept of history leaves us short-sighted and ill-informed to make important decisions that will affect our future.

  3. i disagree, ur actions in the past can guide u to a brighter future. The mistakes u made, u can learn from them and be better at making decisions.

  4. I'll let you know.

  5. Our past should serve as a foundation of experience that reminds us of some of the un-intelligent decisions we've made and also, of the intelligent decisions we've made. Both should be helpers in guiding us to making the right decisions at the right time based on whatever we are faced with.

Past is history and history is a living, breathing thing. We need the events of the past like tomorrow needs the hours of today to pass by in order to exist. Without yesterday there would be no today. Now, we shouldn't allow negative events of our past haunt us in our present state. That will just keep you bound to a time that no longer exists and ultimately set the stage for depression, anger, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness and a host of other vices that contribute to becoming a victim of arrested development. Don't allow your past to bleed into your present and pollute your future. If they are negative things. But yes, I agree that learning about the past has great value, that information will equip you with knowledge of a time that can carry you to success in the future. Just be careful of what past issues you allow to surface or re-surface. Some things are not meant to be resurrected.

  6. One really cannot exist in their present or look forward to their future without learning and understanding about how we all came to be.  It is far better to learn from prior mistakes than to continue to make them or worse, to keep re-inventing the wheel.  The past is how we define ourselves in our present.

  7. Disagree. First of all, I don't know anyone who isn't interested in where they came from, so there is an inherent value in history right there. Second, I think most people are capable of being moved or fascinated by some historical event. It stirs the imagination and sparks creativity. I won't go so far as to say every person out there learns a lesson from the past, but as we continue to progress I think it is beneficial to see how far we have come and remember which roads not to ever go down again.

  8. "I am sure of this much:  my litle story has become your history.  You won't really understand your times until you understand mine." -- Mary Doria Russell, "Dreamers of the Day: A Novel"

  9. I agree.

Just for the sake of being different. lol

  10. Disagree. To use the old cliche, those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. The past carries lessons, wisdom. If you see that someone has burned their finger on a stove, do you have to perform the same act to learn NOT to touch hot things? No, rather that the lesson be learned from someone else's mistake, than to commit the same mistake myself through stupidity or ignorance.

  11. I disagree.   You can learn from the mistakes of the past so that the future will be brighter.

"Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them."

  12. To understand the present and the future one must understand the past.

  13. I disagree. We should always learn from our mistakes.History is a great teacher,we are simply bad students.

  14. i would have too agree 98% the other % you learn from your mistakes you have done in the past.

  15. Disagree. You always learn from your past mistakes.

  16. Disagree.

How are we going to better ourselves as a society and move on without learning from the past.

  17. disagree. if i make a mistake i usualy learn from it. if we never learn from are past mistakes nobody would learn.
