    There are electronic gadgets with recorded songs, and I have seen an electronic book at Costco . Personally I love the free information on the internet, but I will admit its harder to carry a desktop computer into the field!


  2. The Audubon books now come with a cd and they are very good. You would get a Field Guide for your region. If you check your library you may even be able to borrow one and then return it when you have learned all the birds, or you can decide to buy your own later on.
