Learning the Drums!!?

Question

I have a high ambition for drums...I would really like to learn how to play and become very good at it...Where should i get started? I cant learn with the help of a teacher...am i doomed ??

Terminology has always been the rpoblem for me. There seems to be no terminiology for  learning the drums.  I play by ear  based on musical concept ( LEARNED MATHEMATICAL ALGORITHMS).  I formulate these myself, and teach them to myself.  I am not very good yet but my knowledge in all instruments  grows with my knowledge of music theory. my goal is to become a composer.

Of course your not doomed. Go online and look for an instructor. Ask your local music stores. I get guitar lessons from this place that's a store but they also have teachers.

Don't give up  and put the effort in to find a teacher
