Learning to drive???

So...yes...I am learning to drive...with my husband...in a car that is pretty long and I don't know where it ends :(( I mean is not that difficult but I do make a lot of mistakes. For example...I don't know how to park ( even in a parking lot with no cars, now imagine between 2 cars), I don't look in my left and right mirror, at a stop sign I just yield...I don't know how to keep a constant speed....etc.

My husband is great...but because the car is new ( I don't have another one), and because I do all those mistakes I get scared sometimes and I panic. Is that normal? to do all those mistakes even after 2-3 days of driving? When you guys started to drive...what kind of mistakes did you do?

  1. Yes it is normal to make mistakes while learning to drive. Driving is not a natural talent it is just something you learn and once you learn you will never forget. Hopefully you are not getting on the roads and driving by yourself yet. Definately get a good handle on the process with someone that can teach you to do it right (like your husband) before you go put your self and everybody else in danger. Why are you just now learning to drive?

  2. It may be your husband making you nervous.  I had the opposite problem with my entire family being too nervous to drive in the same car with me.  I suggest going to a driving school.  .  That way your not so nervous and you won't worry about banging up the car. The only issues I had was parking also and now I'm a parallel parking pro.
