Question:

Learning to operate a computer via dvd instruction?

Hi. Does anyone know of any decent instructional videos that can help teach a person the basics of operating a computer with a Windows OS (Xp most likely)?

I have someone that wants to learn to operate a computer but I'm not able to travel and teach them myself. There is always the option of taking a class at the local community college which might be better but anything that might be cheaper would be good as well.

They do know some things but I'm sure they'd be more comfortable having something extra to fall back on that is more straight and to the point instead of just wandering aimlessly.

The only thing I know of is the video professor commercials but I'm not so sure about them. I recall hearing that they had a bad habit of charging people before they could cancel and the prices were pretty high.

Thanks.

  1. Is the person able to get connected and access email??

if they can get that far.. it is possible to give short, to the point "lessons" that way.

I have seen tutorial cds, also video tapes... but mostly bumped into them, or found at garage sales, so forth.  There are always friends around also... the only drawback there is that people take different approaches, and your friend could easily get lost, if sent in many different directions.

What about a search on amazon.com?
