  1. Neither will "make you fat" if you use the correct serving size and use it in moderation. 1 or 2 cups a day with the additive are fine, but if you're downing a pot an hour or something then you're really doing damage to your body. Think about replacing one of your daily cups of copy with hot tea with milk added. Green Tea will especially be good on your system.

Focus on limiting your snacks and portion sizes rather than worrying about coffee additives.

  2. Personally, I go for the fat free because the fake sugars (like aspartame) are really bad for you.  Neither of these will make you fat if you balance your calories and fat intake, unless you're drinking the entire thing in one day.  If you put just one or two tablespoons in your coffee and only have two cups of coffee, you don't need to worry about the added calories.  I would worry more about what else you're eating and mostly ignore the coffee creamer.  Saying that, I would probably go for the fat free as I've heard that sugar free things can actually make you gain weight (maybe it's a myth, I don't know).  Just keep track of your daily calories you eat and make sure you don't go over your suggested amount (near 2000) and you should be fine.

  3. 1 gram of fat equals 9 calories.

1 gram of sugar (or carbs) equals 4 calories.

3500 calories equals one pound of weight gain.

If you don't really care about the side affects of fake sugar, you're typically better off going with the sugar free stuff. However, if it really is gaining weight that you're afraid of, don't look at the fat or sugar content...look at the calories per serving. The more calories you intake, the more weight you're likely to gain.
