whats the least common multiple of 10, 14, and 189

  1. 10 = 2*5

    14 = 2*7

    189 = (3^3)*7

    Therefore lcm = 2*(3^3)*5*7 = 1890.


  2. break numbers down into prime numbers

    10 is 2 times 5

    14 is 2 times 7

    189 is 3 times 3 times 3 times 7

    then you go through each of the prime numbers, and for each number, you look at the number of times it appears in each of the three numbers, and take the biggest one

    2 appears at most once

    3 appears at most three times

    5 appears at most once

    7 appears at most once

    2 times 3 times 3 times 3 times 5 times 7

    = 1890
