  2. When it comes to chaps, i tend to wear non- leather ones as i get really dirty when down at the yard especially when its raining, so leather ones would have to be constanly washed, but if you stay cleaner and are willing to wash them often, then they're are a good choice. Out of the two options you gave i would pick the tanned leather ariat chaps (good hardy brand). I also found the brands i use for at the yard and for shows:

My non-leather ones: http://www.tds-saddlers.com/ProductDetai... These are great around the yard and because they're neoprene, they are low maintenance, waterproof and fit to any calf, plus these come in a range of colours and are pretty cheap for the quality.

My leather chaps: http://www.tds-saddlers.com/ProductDetai... I use these at shows sometimes, but mainly when i'm working down at the racing college, they are really flexible and have suede on the inner leg, that provides you with really good grip.

My show gaiters: http://www.tds-saddlers.com/ProductDetai... i prefer gaiters for showing instead of the long boot as they give so much more flexability in the ankle, but still look like they are a long boot, very comfy, and worth the investment if you decide to show :)

  3. Dover saddlery has them-Dover is expensive tho

  4. I have the brown paddock boots and the brown all leather half chaps too!! lol.

I got my half chaps at greenhawk. (one of my local tack stores) www.greenhawk.ca

and they are ariat. a very good brand name :)

  5. Will you just be schooling in these or showing as well? Remeber, people generally don't show with brown boots unless they are wearing jods. Most tall boots come in black. I would recommend the Ariat Crowne Pro Half Chaps. I am quite sure they are all leather- a friend of mine has them. With a good black paddock boot, you can hardly tell that they are half chaps- definetly approproate for the show ring and would be durable for schooling. I have a pair of Ariat field boots that I school in and they have held up pretty well and I've put them through the ringer for 3 years (cleaning the ocassional stall plus walking around the farm and about 12-15 rides per week in them).

  6. I have leather half chaps by Ariat and I love them. I think I paid $99 for them. They also make suede ones for less.

  7. I like the second one!! they look so nice!!

    :)

  8. Search Ariat Leather chaps on google. Or go to your local tack store and ask to see some. They are everywhere.
