  1. ...and I would avoid it. It cracks and splits easily!

  2. Faux leather is usually some kind of vinyl product. Years ago it was called Naugahyde. It can be good quality and long-lasting. It is also used on pieces that are partially leather--where the leather is not important. That saves the manufacturer money. And it should decrease the cost of the furniture. However, all-leather is the best bet if you can afford it. If you can't, be sure the faux is of good quality or used in non-wear areas--back and sides. Pick a leather that does not scratch with your fingernails if you buy leather.

  3. Fake!

    Leather that isn't leather basically!

  4. "Faux" leather furniture is made from synthetic leathers - which is often made from plastic. There are many names for it, faux being one, and others such as "leatherette", "patent leather" or "Naugahyde".

Faux leather items are great for people like me, who like the look of leather but are vegan!

Although synthetic leather doesn't always have the best reputation - there are now some great quality faux leather options out there and it is nearly always cheaper than it's real leather alternatives. High quality polyurethane is often used and items such as sofa's are finely tailored.

    Hope this helps x

  5. immitation leather.

  6. "Faux" means "fake." So, faux leather means fake leather. It is probably some type of material that is made to look like leather, but isn't.

  7. faux leather has got a peach skin feel to it.

  8. I think it means 'pretend leather', as in vinyl or similar.
