  1. i think that if your spending good money on a rag top then you want the best you can to compliment the car. Leather all the way.

  2. I don't think it matter if it's a rag top or a hardtop.

Dark colors get hot in the summer, light colors not so much.  Sitting on a hot black leather seat in shorts will kill you in August regardless of whether you're in a convertible or a coupe.

  3. leather rules

but make sure it's all leather not just the leather that touches you

  4. I've had leather seats in a convertible - an MX5 which had a black roof and dark blue leather seats...

Issues - they get very hot in summer and cold in winter.  Heated seats helps - however fabric don't suffer from the same temperature differential.

Also, if it's a sporty convertible, you do slide about on leather though this depends on the type of material and what you are wearing so make sure you have decent sports seats if you opt for leather.

Some models now come with ventilated leather seats which cool in hot weather and heat in cold though this tends to be a (very) expensive option on high end cars like Merc SL/Audi A4/BMW 3 Series...

  5. Definately leather - far better if they get wet, the water won't soak in. Easier to clean too.
