  1. if he is mature/adult then yeah

  2. This is fine!  I have 2 dogs, a Kai Ken (1.5 yrs.) and a Mastiff (almost 5 months).  When the Kai Ken was a pup, I didn't have a fenced yard so I always came home for lunch to let him out.  He was never in the house for more than 6 hours straight, and he did fine with that schedule once he was about 5 months and able to hold it longer.

When I got the Mastiff puppy, I continued to come home for lunch each day until I had a dog door installed (I now have a house with a fenced yard).  Now I don't worry about it because I know they can access the backyard to potty and play during the day.  And because I have 2, I don't worry as much about them being bored or lonely.  This only really works for me because I have tile floors, so I don't worry too much about them making a mess in the house by tracking dirt/mud inside.  And we still go for a daily walk and I play in the backyard with them every day.

  3. That sounds fine, You may want to throw in one more pay session at the end of the day after dinner or later in the evening.

  4. If he is not a puppy that is fine. My friends adult English Mastiff stays home while she is at work all day and she is very happy and healthy.

I always feel like a bad mom when I leave my dog to go to work so once or twice a week I send her to a doggy day care. I buy a bulk package of 10-20 visits at a time so it really isn't that expensive but she gets to hang out with other pups and socialize. Maybe you can find a local doggy daycare if you are worried about leaving him alone.
