  1. you should be fine. homebuilders aren't allowed to build dangerously close to powerlines.

  2. I personally would not wish to live near high-power lines due to emf exposure and the possibility of electrical interference to electronic devices. A second concern would be traffic in the area under the power lines such as service vehicles. A third concern is aesthetic. Power lines are ugly to view and certainly take away beauty from nature.

It may certainly not cause any harm according to studies but, I would not want to be a test subject. Some links are included below for you viewing.  Good luck.

  3. if you trust the way they were built then stay, in my opinion it would be nuts to live near electrical wires, but it the house matches you then stay.

  4. If you afraid of living near 60 Hz transmission lines then you should select a house that is not even wired for 120 volt 60 Hz electrical service.  In other words a high voltage 60 Hz cable a long distance away is just like a low voltage 60Hz cable next to your bed.

  5. the house will have to be a minimum distance away due to the hse guidelines, there is a lot of speculation about the dangers associated with o/head power lines, but in fact no concrete evidense, think about all the thousands of people like myself who have been working directly with and alongside them for many years!!the noise you can hear on damp and rainy days is called corona and it the high voltage trying to earth, my advise would be not to worry. Also the trees near to them are trimmed regulary to avoid danger for children or adults climbing and comming into contact with the wires. This is a requirement for the electricity company to do!!

  6. Electro-Magnetic waves are a concern yet there is little study on the dangers of exposure to these fields.  Take a moment and look at tree's which surround these power lines some times.  Observe how many of them are bowed AWAY from the power lines.  This may mean something, this may mean nothing, ultimately, you'll have to stay somewhere,  so you have to deal with some hazard or danger.   I hope this helps.
