Leaving USA without Greencard?

Question

If someone leaves the USA due to an emergency back to UK before the greencard arrives when returning to USA what will happen, will he be allowed back in or not?

If you leave prior to your green card having been approved, without an advance parole, your petition is deemed abandoned and you have to start over from the beginning. Talk to USCIS before you depart!

You should have a stamp (I-90 I think) in your passport- I definately would not leave without speaking to INS first.

In order to return to the U.S. as a returning resident, you will have to be in possession of an immigrant visa or a document, like the green card, which would take it's place. It is not clear if you are a permanent resident or someone who is applying for permanent resident status.

If you already are a permanent resident, you need the green card to return. If you are not a permanent resident, but you applied for it, you will need an immigrant visa to return. If you applied for an advanced parole before you left the U.S., you can use form I-512 to return to the U.S.

I left the country on vacation some years ago while I was in the process of getting a new green card and when my old green card was taken, my passport was stamped with a 'temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence'  stamp that expired one year after my green card had been taken. Not sure if things are the same now. If your passport hasn't been stamped with proof of your residency status, you need to call USCIS and/or make another appointment to see if you can get proof in lieu of receiving your new green card.

I will not go back I know due to a emergency but those people treats u so bad!!! I hate it!!! But if u are in UK and ur greencard comes u have a change to get it or not!!! If u are lucky!!!
