i have a 9 month old who i spend all day with every day. (except one day a week which he spends with his grandmother) he is super-personable and loves people. esp. family - his daddy, his grandparents, cousins, aunts, etc. so my WONDERFUL hubs surprised me w/a spa weekend girls trip and is going to stay home with the baby. i am not worried about the baby bc he will be with everyone and he will be in daddy heaven. but i am worried about me! any tips for first time traveling mommies??? thank you!

  1. Lots of phone calls! I've only been away over night once from our son, but I would call and my father in law would be me on speaker phone and I'd sing him a song and talk to him for about 10 mins everytime I started missing him :) Best of luck.

  2. i think you should enjoy yourself as much as you can, call them to see but if you know hes in good hands, you have nothing to worry about. enjoy yourself!!!

  3. Just bring some pictures. It's your weekend to relax. You should enjoy it. I'm not saying forget about your baby but it's your weekend to be baby-free, house cleaning-free, stress-free. Live it up I wish I could be you right now.

  4. The first night away. I remember this. You are going to worry no matter what you do. You are going to want to call ever hour to check in. You obviously have a great husband and I am sure that all will be alright. Just try to keep telling yourself that your son is with the best hands possible.

There is really no way around it. Your leaving your baby and mothers instict to worry. Just try and relax and enjoy your weekend.

  5. haha. i would keep calling! but you have to try not to worry lol. same kind of thing happened to me

  6. My husband took me away on our aniversary when my son was 6 months.  I called my mom to make sure he was ok, for a piece of mind, and my husband said, and it made sense, that I would not have many of these days, and enjoy my alone time.  I put it in my head that in 2 days, I would be back to changing diapers, washing bottles, and it made me enjoy my time a little more..........don't get me wrong, the Sunday we left, check out time was 12pm...I woke my hubby up at 5am, and made him drive me home...I missed my stinker, but it is nice to have that time to myself, I wish I could do it more...he's 2 now.
