My fish is a beta, and he's in a small bowl little bit smaller than a small bowling ball. We have a good neighbor upstairs and my mom said to keep the fish with her, but she has 2 cats so im not sure. from the local pet store we got these fish feeders that feed the fish for 1 week, and we were thinking we could give the neighbor a key and get her to come in and drop one in every week. but we also need to keep the tank clean, and i know they have tablets for that, but i was wondering if it's good for the fish to have 2 tablets, 1 of food and 1 of cleaning there all week for 3 weeks? i used one of the food tablets and it was yellow, and when i came back my fish's fins had yellow streaks of string trailing behind, and i tapped on the bowl so she'd shake 'em off. help? i hope you know what i mean.

  1. Call a nearby family member to go to your house every day to feed your fish. You can leave them a little note to tell what and how much to feed your fish

  2. that's kind of mean putting it in a bowl. you should at least keep it in a little one gallon tank. then you could buy a automatic fish feeder or have your neighbor drop by and put in one of those things once a week and not worry about the water.

  3. get an automatic fish feeder

  4. keep your fish in your room and have your neighbor come down to feed it and clean the tank. you could offer to pay her.

  5. betta are used to living in gross water so i wouldn't worry about the cleaning until you get home and i would have the neighbor feed the fish and if the water looks gross i would show the neighbor how to clean it and she could do it once while your gone.

  6. the water may get a bit grose but fish can go for a couple months without food. So don't fill your tank up with food, it makes the water discusting! Trust me a fish expert told me and i tried it and it works!

    hope this helps

  7. Flush it. That's more humane than keeping it in an small unfiltered, unheated bowl
