  1. My husband is in basic training now. We had a joint account set up before he left, so his pay including BAH and separation pay get put into the account and we both have access to it if needed. BAH depends on the zip code where your husband will be living. I think separation pay is $250 a month.

  2. Your best option would be to set up a bank account with your husband now. That way when your direct deposit goes in the account he can take what he needs. You could get family seperation pay and BAH. The people I went to basic with got it. I'm pretty sure all the branches are the same in that aspect.

  3. you can get BAH/family seperation pay while in basic.. at least the parents/spouses i went to basic did.

  4. Yes, you can setup an automatic deduction. No you will not get money for being away from them. The good news is that after you finish basic, you will get BAH.
