I've already been to meps and had a physical, and have my ship date set at September 23rd. I had a medical problem when i was little and outgrew it so i didn't mention it at meps. I saw on military.com's website that daily activities in basic include record checks. Are these checks only background related? Or are they also medical related? Im going Air Force if that helps.

  1. Don't worry about it.  If they have let you in, and assuming you aren't referring to anything major, you are ok.

  2. I don't think so, I also had a medical problem that I outgrew and didn't report to meps and they haven't said anything about doing a medical check and finding out about it.  I am in the Airforce.  I wouldn't stress about it.

  3. Take a deep breath....relax.  You have nothing to worry about. They are checking criminal stuff. Keep your mouth shut and you will be fine.

  4. Not sure, the army doesn't check for medical, just criminal background.  If the problem does reappear during basic, you will have a lot explaining to do though.

  5. the Army DOES check medical background. most likely all branches are close to the same as for what they are looking for. unless you are going in the AF for a specific MOS and these past issues could keep you from fulfilling it.

what they are looking for is documented issues. if you list it they will check it. most likely you filled out some sort of medical packet where it asked you questions and you checked a box. if you check yes, then they will check into it. my husband documented issues with his ears growing up. but didn't report it (recruiter told him not to). they never went and looked or requested the records.

if you mark that you have has past documented medical issues, they most likely will go back and request the records from your physician.

what ever they are looking for, if you marked it, it will sort of persade them to look into it. traffic tickets, tattoos, arrest warrants, medical incidents, ect.

trust the answers from someone who just went into the Army this January.
