  1. It WILL die. Have someone watch it for you.

  2. never give him a lotta of food cant p**p after eating a lot a little and every day have that person feed it a little bowl

  3. Get someone to watch her for you.....2 weeks is a long time with out someone checking in on her.

  4. It will be lonely.  You should get another one because they are very social and do best in pairs.  It is too bad that you can't leave it with someone who can be with it all the time.  Just make sure that they are checking on it daily at least a couple of times a day and they should try and interact with it but the best thing to do would be to get another one.

  5. well just make sure you leave your guinea pig with someone who you know is responsible and you can trust to care for your guinea pig, when i had guinea pig i would let my mom or sister care for him if not i had my sisters friend she had a bunny so she knew how to care for them animals. i also left a list of things for them such make sure bowl is full, water is filled and fresh, and also the vegetables he liked and to add alfalfa everyone a while, then of course to clean the cage every couple days to keep it fresh, i would always leave them with enough food and bedding, alfalfa plus i would give them disposable hand gloves but if you dont thats ok...i usually demonstrated on how to clean the cage to whoever i was giving jerry to (jerry, my guinea pigs name) just to give them a better idea...and like i said you can make a list just for them to refer to something while you are away, also make sure if they have a dog or cat not to let them interact, if u cant find someone to care for you guinea pig at their home maybe they can at least come over everyday to check on him/her and care to her needs

  6. well you could maybe leave the radio on.

  7. Give it to a family member or friend to watch for the weekend. I have a guninea pig myself named Sammy and I know they are very social and dependant creatures.

  8. As long as someone checks in with her every day and makes sure she has fresh food and water and gives her some attention, it'll be fine.

Also since she probably won't get as much attention as she's used to some extra things in her cage to chew on might help. Or some cardboard tubes (store bought or toilet paper rolls) whatever your guinea pig likes to play with.

  9. There is no way you can leave her alone for 2 weeks.

Do you have a friend, family member or neighbour that can come by daily to feed, water, exercise and clean after her? Maybe they can take her for two weeks into their own home?

Or check your phone book, newspaper classifieds, and online classifieds (like craigslist.com) for pet sitting services.

Edit: Alright, you can leave something behind in the cage that smells like you, like a shirt or hat or something (that you don't mind ruined a bit). You should also leave her favourite veggies in the fridge for the person to give her. Same with any other treats she likes.

  10. Don't leave her on her own she will die. You really should have thought about her before you booked your holiday.

Haven't you got a friend or relative who can look after her, not only does she need food and water but she needs companionship!

I don't know if dog and cats boarding kennels have a facility to look after smaller animals but it might be worth phoning and asking because I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

  11. U should have a friend check on her every day and maybe interact for half an hour and play around with them while they have floor time.

They should also fill up on food every day, and ask them to give lots of hay.

  12. First, cover half of the cage with a blanket to keep it safe from drafts. Next, do you have a hiding box for her? It will make her feel safer from somebody who doesn't smell like you, someone she trusts. You can use a small plain box large enough for her to rest comfortably and a hole that she can slip comfortably through (try not to use colored boxes, ink unsafe). Guinea pigs like small dark places because it makes them feel secure

Tell the person that is coming to make sure she has fresh, cool water and 1/4 cup of pellets and to give her more hay. If he is coming back only every two days, make him give double. Tell him to not pick her up or try to handle her because she isn't used to him and you don't want an injured guinea pig.  That is, unless the piggie knows him and he knows how to handle her. Have him take her out for floor time and stroke her so she isn't too lonely.  Maybe you should get her some more toys to play with like cat bells, toilet/towel paper tubes, or even a white, plastic spoon (Trust me. I read in a book that guinea pigs will spend hours dragging it around =D) Then tell him to shut off the lights and close the doors. I think that that should be fine.

When I go away, that's what I tell my pet-sitter. You could also leave a checklist so he doesn't forget. Good luck! =D
